Year 8 Cover Lesson

Classwork : Before starting todays work students need to ensure they have left 4 sketchbook pages (2 double pages) free to stick in the the collage/final painting when it is complete, and the information on Artists who use Collage.

Students initially watch the two introductory videos to perspective shown below. Students need to gain an understanding of terms like one point perspective, two point perspective, vanishing point, true horizon, eye level and foreshortening.

After this students watch the ‘Perspective Heading 1’ video below and then use ‘one point perspective’ to draw a PERSPECTIVE heading in their sketchbook (they do not add colour at this stage).

Homework : Complete the PERSPECTIVE heading (but do not add colour). Back to normal lessons next week.

Year 9 Cover Lesson

Classwork : All boys to work on their Analytical Cubism self-portrait in colour pencil.

Some boys will almost be complete and will be putting the finishing touches and final improvements to their work (the background is optional). Other boys (who are half way through the computer work) will use this lesson to make a start.

All students can watch the ‘Analytical Cubist Portrait 2’ video below as a reminder of the skills needed for this work and see the examples below the video.
